St. Tropez Dinner Party

I had so much fun recreating the iconic Le Club 55 in East Boston for a summer dinner party with close friends.

While on a trip to the South of France in 2019, I loved the whole St. Tropez experience. The highlight was Le Club 55 – after spending the morning on the beach, visitors head to a late outdoor lunch by the beach. Fresh food is paired with ample rosé as an acoustic band visits each table taking song requests. By the end of the lunch seating, everyone is singing along!

The dinner party was held on an outdoor patio in the city. To provide more privacy, I covered the patio fencing with tall bamboo and set up a canopy structure with lace curtains. Tablecloths were blue toile, with burlap and lace place settings complete with bamboo utensils and straws.

For florals I used blue hydrangeas, baby’s breath and plenty of pampas. We had to keep the rosé flowing, so a rosé keg was on deck (and Perrier sparkling water for those not indulging). Dinner included shrimp and lemon pasta, with “Le Club 54” french macarons for dessert. An acoustic singer serenaded the group, and guests could submit song requests on vintage St. Tropez post cards.

The juxtaposition of the idyllic French Riviera and gritty Eastie gave this party that ‘je ne sais quoi’.
